About Sprenger Chains:

The 3.0mm black stainless steel fur saver short link collar by Herm Sprenger is designed to be very gentle on your dogs fur by preventing the pulling and tangling that can be unavoidable by using a close link chain. The longer links help spread the pressure of the collar into a series of flat surfaces instead of the 'rope like' contraction of a standard choke collar. Short link fur saver dog collars present a closer linked chain to the fur and are suitable for both long and short haired dogs. The shorter links give the collar a more flexible action while retaining the benefit of being gentle to the dogs coat.

The short link collar is a sturdy 3.0mm gauge for small to larger dogs. Measuring the size is important to ensure the correct fit, ensure the collar size is at least 2 inches longer than the measured lengths. This collar cannot be separated like a prong collar and doesn't have an adjustable buckle like a leather collar. To fit your dog it has to go over your dogs head, comfortably sliding over the ears. We therefore recommend measuring both the dogs neck size and measuring from under the chin, over the head and ears and back to under the chin to ensure the collar will go on. If you already use a fitted slip collar or choke collar simply lay it flat and measure the length end to end.
