The Herm Sprenger Fur Saver Black Stainless Steel 3mm Short Link Check Chain Collar is a well-regarded training collar designed to be gentle on your dog's coat. Unlike a standard choke collar, which contracts in a rope-like action, the short link fur saver design spreads pressure across a series of flat surfaces — reducing pulling and tangling on your dog's fur. The shorter links also give the collar a more flexible, responsive action while still being kind to both long and short coats.

This collar is a sturdy 3.0mm gauge, making it suitable for a range of dogs from small to larger breeds. It is available in four lengths to suit different neck sizes.

Getting the Right Fit

This collar does not have a buckle or separating link — it needs to slip over your dog's head and ears to fit. To choose the right size, measure two things: your dog's neck circumference, and the distance from under the chin, up over the head and ears, and back down to under the chin. The collar size should be at least 5cm (approximately 2 inches) longer than your neck measurement. If you already use a slip or choke collar, lay it flat and measure end to end.

Please note that due to manufacturing conditions, length variances of −1cm to +1.5cm are possible.
